Nothing’s “broken.” That’s the problem. 

There is no dumpster fire, so nothing needs fixing, right? 

Revenue’s fine. The team is shipping. Clients are mostly happy.

And every week there’s maybe six things that cost twenty minutes, or forty dollars, or one unproductive email chain. Individually, none of them are worth halting an operation for. Which is precisely why none of them have ever been stopped!

That’s not a huge business failure, but it is something worth addressing. 

The column everybody skips

When people list what’s broken, they write down what it costs. 

• The tool is $50 a month. 
• The report takes an hour. 
• The handoff drops maybe twice a quarter.

Then they look at the list, decide none of it is worth a project, and close the document.

The column they skip is how many times a year it happens.

A one-time $400 mistake is a story. A $400 mistake that happens every month is a system.

$50 a month is $600. An hour a week is 52 hours, which at $37/hr is $1,924. A handoff that drops twice a quarter and costs four hours of cleanup each time is 32 hours, plus whatever the client thought about it.

Individually, none of these are “that big of an issue”. 

All of them together…well that’s somebody’s annual salary.
